This privacy policy explains how we use the personal data we collect from you as a user of Star-Stuff. To use this experience, you must consent to the data collection terms described here. In addition to this privacy policy, we also use the third-party services including Oculus and Photon Engine. We use Oculus to distribute and run the software, and Photon Cloud to handle game server, matchmaking, and networking services. You can read them here:

What data do we collect?
We collect the following data:
- Photon Cloud collects the minimal data required to provide their service including the IP address of your device. See https://dashboard.photonengine.com/en-US/account/gdpr for details.
- Aggregate anonymous server usage data including:
- Concurrent Users
- Number of rooms in use
- Server bandwidth
- With your consent we may collect gameplay data. This includes the following:
- Hand/controller/headset position
- Whether you are connected with another player.
- All other game data is collected to synchronize your experience with another remote user. This data is sent to a Photon Cloud server to be relayed to the other player. This data is not stored beyond the time required to communicate the information to the other player.
How do we collect your data?
We collect data and process data automatically when you:
- Run the experience and connect to the Photon Cloud server.
- If you have consented to have gameplay data recorded, we will automatically record it until you disable gameplay data recording (accessed in the intro screen), reinstall, or uninstall the experience.
How will we use your data?
We collect your data so that we can:
- Connect you with other users for multiplayer networking.
- Gameplay data is connected to gather insights into how you use the experience so that we can make improvements to the experience and develop new social experiences for human connection. This anonymous data is only collected with your consent and may be included in academic publications regarding the experience.
How do we store your data?
Most of your data will only be stored on Photon Cloud servers. That data is only kept long enough to provide you with the networking service for this experience. Aggregate data (e.g. number of users and bandwidth) for up to 24 hours.
Anonymous gameplay data is kept indefinitely and may be shared on an open access database to facilitate research by other researchers.
What are your data protection rights?
We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights.
Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access – You have the right to request our copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
- The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request us to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
- The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions. Note that it may not be possible to delete anonymous data once it has been incorporated into the dataset.
- The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
